FAQ

If I join, can I cancel my membership?

Our health club membership prices are structured in a way that the longer you join the cheaper it is for you.
Running a small independent health club costs a lot of money and to be able to stay open we need to have a committed amount of income to cover the running costs of the business. For this reason we use Direct Debit to collect memberships.

The memberships offered range from 1, 3, 6 to 12 months. These memberships are fixed term contracts and are not able to be cancelled. That is why we offer different membership prices based on the term that you join for, so please think carefully about the term you would like to join for before joining.

Do you have any rules I should be aware of?

We are a friendly and easy going club however we have a few rules:

  • You must bring and use a towel
  • You must train in gym clothes, no person will be allowed to train in any other type of clothing other than that designed for use in a gym environment (leggins, t-shirts are fine)
  • Wipe down any machines you use after use
  • Ensure you are clean and fresh when entering our premises
  • Do not wear outdoor shoes in the club
  • Refrain from using a mobile phone unless in an emergency, then to be used in our lounge not in the gym area.

Do you have to be a member to use the health club?

Non members are welcome but they have to pay a premium to use the health club facilities.

How much do you have to pay for individual sessions?

Yes, the cost is $6 to use the gymnasium, £4 to use the sauna and can pay $5 per class.

Do you have to have an induction?

Unless you are very experienced and have been training for at least 2 years, it is highly advisable that you have an induction before you use the gym. On your induction you will be shown how to use the equipment and given a training programme to follow, if you have any specific areas you would like to focus more on than others please inform your instructor who will be happy to show you some additional exercises.

What if I am still not sure after my induction?

If after your induction you are unsure about anything at all then simply book back in for another induction or ask one of our friendly staff for assistance.

How often should I train?

Depending on what you want to achieve and your current fitness/health levels this could vary quite a bit, but as a rule 3 to 4 times per week should be fine for most people.

If I lift weights won't I get big muscles?

No, it is very difficult for a woman to build muscle. For a woman to gain muscle she would need to be lifting the maximum weights she could lift for 6 to 8 repetitions and eating a very high calorie high protein diet.

If you feel yourself that you are getting muscular, this is just muscle tone, where the body stores water in the muscle cell in the form of glycogen making the muscle feel more firmer, this is fine, required by the body and healthy.

I am pregnant can I still train?

Very much so, it will help you and your baby if you keep active and fit. If you have any reason to be concerned or have not been using a gym or exercising pre-pregnancy you should seek doctor approval before commencing.

Can I visit to look around? Do I need an appointment?

You are welcome to come and have a look around any time no appointment necessary.

What's the catch! - why is the membership so cheap?

There is no catch... we offer an incredible facility at an incredible price! Come and see for yourself.
